Tim Hawkins Albany Concert reviews
Counting Crows Rocks the Rocks
It's a great memory all in all. I went to the show with a group not familiar with Tim Hawkins, and they didn't really appreciate what they saw. But I, a big Crow fan, was there for my 52nd birthday and thought it was a terrific show, even having to stand in the rain for most of the show. It was also the first time at Red Rocks. Really liked the format with Tim Hawkins and Augustana playing together and then separately during the show. The show opened with Van Morrison's Caravan and included some great covers: I Just Wanna Make Love to You, Delta Lady, Cecilia. First time I've heard Augustana and became an instant fan. Tim Hawkins also did some favorites that I hadn't heard at the two past Tim Hawkins shows I've seen, including Mrs. Potter's Lullaby and Children in Bloom. They also did several songs from the new album, including stellar versions of Cowboys and Washington Square.
